The process for registering for any clinic offered by WASRC is very similar. Whether you are a New Referee, Recertifying Referee, want to sign up for Supplemental training or want to sign up for a Fitness Test.
From the Home page, click "User Logon"
If you are having difficulties logging on, please see "Logging on the Website" for more details.
Once you have logged onto the WAReferees website, click the "I want to" dropdown and choose "Register for Clinic or Fitness Test".
The website may ask you to verify your Personal Information. If it does, please review the information for accuracy and then click "Submit Personal Information Update".
Next, if you are an adult, the website may ask you for permission to do a Background Check. I will need to click "Continue - I AGREE" in order to sign up for any clinic. If you do not agree, you cannot sign up for any clinics.
Next, if you are an adult, answer the "Legal Question".
Now you need to specify which "Official Type" of clinic you want. In most cases, this will be "Referee". But there are other types of soccer officials:
Assignors - Work with Referee Associations to find referees to assign to games in the Referee Association's area.
Futsal Referees - Referees for Futsal.
Referee Coach - Experienced referees who are involved in instructing, mentoring and assessing referees.
Coach/Player Training - This is free training for anyone. It provides all the Online Lessons that New Referees need to take but doesn't provide the In-Person portion of the New Referee training and doesn't result in a certification.
It is recommended that you select only one type of "Official Type", but not required.
Next, you will select the type of clinic based on the "Official Type" you have selected.
Referee Clinic Types
If you are a New Referee, there is only one Clinic Type available - New Registration.
If you are or have been a certified referee, you have up to six choices:
Recertification - Recertify your current certification.
Supplemental Training - There are a number of clinics offered that provide additional training for certified Referees. These do not apply toward recertification or upgrading.
Upgrade - Upgrade to the next level of referee.
Fitness Test - Sign up for a WASRC Fitness Test. These are needed for some upgrading and maintain higher grade certifications.
Go Emeritus - You must be a Regional or National referee over 45 years old to become an Emeritus referee - a role for high level referees to retire into.
Regain Grade - If you were an upper level referee and have been downgraded, you can sign up for an Regain Grade to be upgraded.

New Referees
If you are a New Referee, you must first sign up and complete the "New Referee (PreClinic Lessons)" clinic. This is a set of Online Lessons that will teach you the Laws of the Game (LOTG). Once you have completed these lessons, you will be able to select a "New Referee Field Clinic". This clinic is an in-person clinic that you must attend. It is the completion of the New Referee certification process.
Supplemental Training
There can be lots of Supplemental Training available at any time. Be sure to find the one you want and select "Reserve Clinic".
Before you can attend a clinic, you must pay any fees and registration costs associated with the clinic by credit card or debit card. There may be a Background Check Fee also. Some Supplemental Training clinics are free.
You will see the fees you owe in the "Completing your Request and Paying Fees" box. Click "Click here to Complete Requests and Pay Fees" and you will be guided through paying.
